LEAP is an intensive ten-week course during which small business owners expand their business knowledge. The course culminates in participants refining their business plans and presenting them for a chance to win a $20,000 capital investment. All LEAP graduates leave the program with the ability to seek business financing as well as a comprehensive business plan.

The history of voting in America makes plain that voting rules have always been entangled with broader issues of wealth, class and race, and political parties. At our country’s founding, only white men who owned property were allowed to vote. 244 years later, we celebrate the centennial of the 19th Amendment, guaranteeing the right to vote for white women, and the sesquicentennial of the 15th Amendment, declaring that the right to vote cannot be denied because of a person’s “race, color, or previous condition of servitude.”

The VOTING RIGHTS ACT helped secure free and fair elections in the United States — but some legislators have spent decades chipping away at it. August 7th was its 65th anniversary, the GOP is openly suppressing voters across the country.
John Lewis’ legacy deserves better. We need to honor his legacy by fighting to make sure every American can cast their vote freely.

LISC provides relief grants to small businesses (Opens July 27th)
LISC is providing relief grants to small businesses to help them keep functioning and remain vital facets of their local economies through the COVID-19 pandemic. Awards will be made to qualified businesses, and eligibility is based on accurate and complete submission. Priority will be given especially to entrepreneurs of color, women- and veteran-owned businesses and other enterprises in historically under-served places who don’t have access to flexible, affordable capital.
